- Satire is one of many people's favourite genre, which is why we have chosen to introduce you to an old British film called Exspresso Bongo (1959). Yes, that's right - "eXspresso", not "espresso", and only this time the mistake is on purpose.The film follows the story of sleazy hustler Johnny Jackson who is on the lookout for young talents, but his only intention is to exploit them for his own benefit. Meanwhile, his stripper girlfriend Maisie King is chasing better opportunities, trying to make it as a singer.
When Jackson finds the young, talented singer Bert Rudge, who works at an espresso store, he signs a contract with him and sends him on the ladder to fame.
