  • Anna constantly thinks that even though she married a rich man, she still has no money. The couple began living in a state apartment. Anna spends whole days playing the piano, or crying out of boredom, or reading novels and fashion magazines.

    Modest Alexeych spoke at a dinner about politics, appointments and awards, the fact that family life is not a pleasure but an obligation. In society, Modest Alexeich forces Anna to obediently worship people of high rank. Greedy when Anna begs him to buy her something. When Anna goes to visit her father and brothers, she sees that they are embarrassed and do not know how to behave. The weak and kind father Pyotr Leontich plays the old accordion on holidays and continues to drink. And the brothers Petya and Andryusha, weak, pale boys with big eyes, take the decanter from him "Don't, Dad ... Enough, Dad ...".
