- Court Jesters is a novel by Viktor Fischl from 1982. It is an action-philosophical prose whose central theme is the ethical problem of revenge. The title of the novel names the position of the four heroes "in the court" of Governor Kohl and at the same time examines the position of man in the court of God. The author follows the fate of four Jewish friends from Auschwitz and describes their lives during and after the war.Court Jesters is one of Viktor Fischl's most important and most translated books. In addition to Hebrew , English , French and German, the work has been translated into Dutch , Swedish , Norwegian , Romanian and even Japanese . The film rights to Court Jesters were bought by director Miloš Forman , but this work was never made into a film.
