"Bulgarian Artist" is the modern voice of culture and the arts. The magazine was revived in 2024 by the world-renowned opera singer and producer Sonya Yoncheva, who has taken on the role of publisher. The first issue of the new edition was released on 24 May 2024, coinciding with the Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education, and Culture.
Before the war, Bulgarian Artist was published between 1926 and 1934 as the official organ of the Union of Bulgarian Dramatic and Opera Artists. Inspired by a desire to elevate Bulgarian artists and solidify their role in society, Sonya Yoncheva has reinstated the magazine with a mission—to support, embrace, and live through the arts, enabling them to transform Bulgaria on a social, economic, and cultural level.
