Joana Atanasova | The Second Renaissance SIGNED

Price 34.90 лв. (€17.85)
  • The Second Renaissance is a provocative and conceptually daring read, particularly suited for those intrigued by the intersection of politics, economics, and next-generation technologies. Its optimistic framing that systemic change could pave the way for a more peaceful, purposeful world is refreshing.
    -----------------------
In the wake of a catastrophic nuclear event, life on Earth changes forever. Evolution accelerates at an impossible pace, giving rise to a new age — The Second Renaissance. In just two millennia, animals have developed intelligence, language, and culture on par with humanity’s own. From the jungles to the tundras, each species builds its traditions, beliefs, and ways of life.

Kanan, a wolf-man linguist adopted by the last remaining humans outside the hidden Oasis, has made it his life’s work to study these new civilizations. But when he saves Lupas, a bat-hybrid prince from Romania’s royal Radinescu clan, the two find themselves entangled in a discovery that could alter the fate of both human and hybrid forever.
Rooted in real evolutionary theory, The Second Renaissance imagines a world where our ancestors were never primates at all. How would language sound? How would traditions form?

What would religion look like in a world of fur, feather, and fang? Blending scientific hypotheses with rich worldbuilding and a sweeping fantasy adventure, this novel explores the clash, union, dynamics, and lifestyles of all animal-turned-intelligent hybrids on our planet, as well as an ancient legend awakened from the ashes.

    ----------------------
Joana Atanasova is an amateur writer known for her humorous fantasy/science fiction novel series “The Second Renaissance”. Growing up in the bad parts of Sofia, Bulgaria, in a dysfunctional family has secured Joana with a dark sense of humour and a taste for survival knowledge that has transcended into her works. Teachers were Joana’s ladder out of the ghettos of Sofia, and the driving force behind her evergreen curiosity and love for learning, her support in dark and difficult situations, and the reason she’s a jack-of-all-trades today.
A multipotentialite in the full meaning of the word – an amateur linguist, anthropologist, and archeologist, it’s not her book that led her to these many interests, but rather the other way around. A monthly contributor for the “Silly Linguistics Magazine”, her love for everything and anything ancient eventually grew, budded, and finally fully bloomed into her masterpiece, dubbed “The Second Renaissance”.

Her archaeoromance started in the early days of her life, but it wasn’t until she grew into these large shoes that Joana discovered her passion for the “what if” and bravely laying out different hypotheses regarding linguistics and anthropology. Joana humorously refers to herself as a “cultural magpie” – joyfully collecting bits of beauty from every tradition and culture she comes across along the way.

A compliment, rather than an insult, Joana wears the badge of “amateur” loudly and proudly, proving every step of her way that you can indeed be anything you want in this life with hard work, dedication, and all the love in the world.
