  • Hristo Komarnitsky is the living legend of Bulgarian cartoons and it is a pleasure and an honor for Elephant to offer his works.

    Perhaps, to understand this caricature, we need to give a little clarification on the situation.

    At one point in Russia's war against Ukraine, the Russians promised the families of those who fell in battle that they would give each a free white Lada. As always happens in the USSR - many people, little Ladas. And so the campaign ended abruptly for one side of the deal.

    This is exactly what we see in this particularly direct caricature by the artist Hristo Komarnitsky - a happy Russian mother who pushes a pram in the shape of a tank and promises her child that when he grows up he will become a Muscovite. Not the tank, but her child. And the Kremlin sits in the background and waves a five-pointed star...
