In April 1946, the creator of the scooter Vespa Piaggio, filed a patent for the design. The documents state "a practical model" for "a motorcycle with rationally spaced parts and elements with a frame combined with fenders and engine trim covering all working parts", of which "the whole is a rational, comfortable motorcycle offering protection from mud and dust without compromising the requirements for appearance and elegance. "The patent was approved next December, and today we celebrate 75 years of Vespa.
