Original vintage newspaper Le Petit Parisien | 1910-07-10 | King Ferdinand | Framed

Price 489.90 лв.
  • This issue of Le Petit Parisien captures King Ferdinand's visitation to France, just a few days before he becomes the first monarch to travel by plane (The New York Times, 1910-07-16).

In this very rare illustration, which was created in June 1910 and published at the beginning of July, we can see the king during his official walk around the Bagatelle Rose Garden, where he and his wife Marie Louise of Bourbon-Parma are contemplating the rose bushes, maybe in an exercise of comparison to the famous Bulgarian rose. The flight itself takes place a few days later, on July 15, when the two royalties are travelling to Belgium.

On the illustration, you can also see one of France's best rosarians, Jules Gravereaux, as well as councilman Léopold Bellan.

With the addition of the frame, this newspaper immediately becomes a unique and luxurious gift for everybody who appreciates vintage aesthetics, rare finds, and, of course, Bulgarian history. The moment portrayed here, in fact, forms part of world history as well. This exclusive item will definitely tickle every collector's interest in the art of antiques. But let us not stop there - the newspaper is a gift that is both unpredictable and remarkable in itself.

Le Petit Parisien is actually one of the most famous newspaper during the Third French Republic and, according to some sources, one of the most circulated ones globally at the time. The newspaper sparks the attention of French society by being one of the first media outlets outside the control of political parties. The journalists relied on sensational and often risky news, instead of propaganda which also helped them avoid taxes. Le Petit Parisien did not allow itself to fall under ideological pressure - the reason why its circulation stopped a little bit after France fell under Nazi occupation in 1944.

Another impressive characteristic of this vintage newspaper is that its covers are all hand-drawn by local artists because, at the time, photography was not as readily available. The colours here are perfectly preserved and vivid. The goal of each illustrator was to capture the passerby's eye. Sensation, truth, and colours - what more can you ask for from a newspaper?

Even though the cover of this issue is slightly inclined to one side behind the glass, it still is in a very good condition (excluding some folds around the edges). As for the framing: we frame as it is for ourselves, choosing quality products and maintaining a high standard.
