Are Paddywax candles really safer than most other branded candles around the world?
Paddywax candles combine a wax blend made with premium soybean oil and scented oils and/or high-quality fragrance compositions. Paraffin, added to achieve the desired firmness, accounts for approximately 15% of the blend, keeping the proportion of non-natural ingredients to a minimum. This reduced paraffin content ensures that burning the candles does not cause breathing discomfort in enclosed spaces and allows you to enjoy more than one candle at a time without harming your health.
In addition to containing just 15% paraffin, Paddywax soy candles contain no formaldehyde (0%)—a carcinogenic substance that can cause coughing and is commonly found in many types of candles.
Our Paddywax candles are also free from phthalates—a widely used and highly hazardous group of synthetic chemical compounds (esters of phthalic acid). These substances are used in mainstream fragrances, nail polish, hairsprays, and lotions to help scents last longer and improve application, yet they are carcinogenic. We do NOT use them in our production.
Paddywax collections are developed in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. Most packaging and final product assembly takes place in Vietnam. Some of our candle vessels are designed to be repurposed, adding a beautiful decorative touch to your home long after the candle has burned down.

• For the first time you light your candle, allow it to burn until the wax pool melts to the edge, which will prevent tunnelling of the wax from forming in the future
• For best results, burn the candle 3-4 hours at a time
• Never move whilst lit or until the wax hardens
• Keep wick trimmed to approx 10mm and remove wick trimmings, match stubs, and any other foreign objects
