When you have nothing left but to accept the given circumstances, your soul starts to feel lighter. The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming even when it is -20° Celsius outside, and water turns into wine.
The gift card that announces that everything will be alright, even when it is not, borrows Jacques de Gheyn II’s painting, known as the first one to interpret the concepts of human vanity and mortality. In combination with the neon graffiti “C’est la Vie”, the card reminds us that everything in life suffers from duality and wavering between happiness and sadness - two perceptions that, in the 21st Century, we have transformed into hope and cynicism.
But isn’t the fact that, when all flesh is gone the skull keeps on smiling, the most significant of all reminders? A paradox filled with hope!
On the back of the card, there is an additional sarcastic description, and, on the inside, there is some space for writing, in case you would like to wish your loved ones more mortal moments.
