Vintage poster "La Rabouilleuse" (France) - 1944
- A very loose adaptation of Balzac's novel of the same name. The film basically follows the hot adventures of Philip Brideau, a former soldier of Napoleon, added to half-pay and then sent into the plot. Philippe finds in Isudun his mother's half-brother, Rouget, who lives with a servant girl, Fleur Brazier, with whom the old man has fallen so much in love that he declares her his sole heir and marries her. Philip kills Flor's lover, and when his uncle dies, he leaves with Flor, making her very unhappy.Staging: O. The poster is in good condition for its age, with preserved colors and lettering. It has been folded in half but could easily be framed so the folds don't show. The paper is thick and rough.
