- An old man living in an Oriental town tells the story of his life to a group of children: He too was once a young boy named Little Mook. Having lost his father at an early age, little Mook is kicked out of his home by his greedy relatives. He wanders the desert hoping to find the merchant who sells fortune. Among the sand dunes, he comes across a small house owned by an evil woman and her many cats. She wants to make Little Mook her servant, but he manages to escape by stealing a pair of magical shoes that allow him to run faster than any man in the land.
