Vintage poster "The Red Poppy" (Czechoslovakia) - 1955
- The ballet is set at a seaport in Kuomintang-era China in 1920. Ships carrying sailors from many countries, including the Soviet Union, have docked at a Chinese seaport. The captain of the Soviet ship notices a group of half-starved, overworked workers who are being brutally put to work by the cruel port master. One evening while dancing for the sailors aboard the ship, the beautiful Tai-Choa notices the Soviet captain trying to save the poor workers from their superior. The film was made in 1955 and the poster you see is from the original production. The poster is in good condition for its age, with preserved colors and lettering. It has been folded in half but could easily be framed so the folds don't show. The paper is thick and rough.* The original title of the film is "Cervený mak".
