  • We are not even sure that we should comment on the Bulgarian-Soviet friendship, as this is an issue that has been highly polar since the establishment of Bulgaria, during the period of the People's Republic, and even today - current for a century and a half, and more. However, we cannot argue with one thing - it exists, whether in a positive or negative aspect.

    Another thing that is perhaps more interesting in this campaign poster is the address "women and mothers". The role of women (and mothers) is extremely important in the period of socialism (not only in Bulgaria). In addition to guardians of the home and traditions, they are the creators of the family and, of course, future generations. This is what is hidden in the not very hidden message here "strengthen the life-giving" friendship.

    On this agitation poster we see precisely this life-giving address to Bulgarian women and mothers. The poster has technical notes that indicate its size and instructions for printing. It was printed in the State Enterprise (State Printing House) Chromolithography "Balkan" Sofia in a circulation of 10,000 copies. The style of the image is typical for the late 50s of the last century, in this case the poster is from 1957.
