L'Europeo N.79 | Rolling Stones at 60 | June/July 2022
For six decades, The Rolling Stones have been creating an alternative reality for humanity—almost inadvertently. They have offered a way of life as much as a body of music: a form, an attitude, a vision, available to anyone bold enough to embrace it.
It is not a lesson that must be learned at any cost. Nothing is worth that. It is simply the consequence of doing what feels true, even when the world insists it is not. Such is the paradox of the Stones.
Sixty years on, they continue to defy nearly everything we think we know about the limits of the human body, chemistry, endurance, and spirit. We are unlikely to witness anything quite like them again. And perhaps that is precisely what makes this moment so extraordinary.
What better subject, then, for L’Europeo?
