Thelwell | Play it as it Lies

Price 5.06€ (9.89 лв.)
This product is second hand.

  • Play It As It Lies by legendary British cartoonist Norman Thelwell brings together a wonderfully witty collection of cartoons devoted to the pleasures, frustrations and glorious absurdities of golf. With his unmistakable eye for comic detail, Thelwell captures everything that can go wrong on the course – from unfortunate golfing attire and mysteriously disappearing balls to treacherous bunkers and decidedly questionable gamesmanship.

Originally published in 1987 and reissued by Allison & Busby in 2023 as part of celebrations marking Thelwell's centenary, this charming collection demonstrates why his affectionate satire of British life remains so enduring. Nostalgic, beautifully observed and instantly recognisable to anyone who has experienced the triumphs and humiliations of the fairway, Play It As It Lies is an entertaining gift for golfers and an irresistible introduction to one of Britain's best-loved cartoonists.
