Vintage poster "Anoush" - story by Hovanness Toumanian (Armenia - USA) - 1945
- The tragic love story takes place in a typical Armenian village of the 19th century. Anush is a young village girl who falls in love with a shepherd named Saro. One night, at a village wedding party, Anush's brother Mosi and Saro wrestle in a friendly match...Anoush is an opera in five acts composed by Armen Tigranyan, based on the 1892 poem of the same name by Hovhannes Tumanyan. Originally composed in 1912, it was first performed in Alexandropol, but had to wait until 1935 for its full professional production at the Armenian National Opera House.Starring: Zarouhi Elmasian and others.The film was made in 1945 and the poster you see is from the original production. The poster is in good condition for its age, with preserved colors and lettering. It has been folded in half but could easily be framed so the folds don't show. The paper is thick and rough.
