- The Count of Monte Cristo (French: Le comte de Monte Cristo) is a 1943 French-Italian film directed by Robert Vernet and directed by Ferruccio Cerio. Based on the classic 1844 novel Le Comte de Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, this two-part film stars Pierre Richard-Willem in the title role.It was shot at the Cinecitta studio in Rome. The film's sets were designed by art director René Renou.Starring: Liz de la Mar, Pierre Richard-Willem and others.The film was made in 1943 and the poster you see is from the original production. The poster is in good condition for its age, with preserved colors and lettering. It has been folded in half but could easily be framed so the folds don't show. The paper is thick and rough.
