  • No, we're not suggesting you buy a college degree, it's a piece of visual history that has found its way through the generations to us.

The diploma belongs to Lyuba Filipova, a student at the "Historical-Philological" Faculty majoring in "Slavic Philology and Literature", born in Chisinau, then Russia (now Moldova) on January 24, 1893. The diploma was issued on July 4, 1917 and was signed by the rector Atanas Ishirkov.

Anastas Ishirkov is a scientist, geographer and ethnographer, university lecturer, public figure and donor, professor at Sofia University and academician at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Founder of geographical science in Bulgaria. 17th Rector of Sofia University (1915 – 1916) and three times Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology of Sofia University. During his time as rector of Sofia University, Bulgaria entered the First World War.
