Vintage poster "Working Peasants ..." 1953
- The poster itself is very clear and specific, but more interesting is what exactly early sowing means and what are the crops that are suitable for each of the seasons. We asked about the thick books and here is what they answered:
- Early autumn sowing (early September) - rapeseed, turnip
- Autumn sowing (end of September - beginning of November) - winter cereals
- Late autumn sowing (November) - winter crops (oats, lentils, peas)
- Early spring sowing (end of February - mid-March) - sowing for seedlings, lentils, peas, beans, spring barley, spring wheat, etc.
- Medium early spring sowing (mid-March - mid-April) - beets, sunflowers and more.
- Late spring sowing (mid-April - mid-May) - corn, millet, sorghum, beans, soybeans and others.
- Sowing of second crops (after harvesting barley) - corn, etc.
- Permanent sowing - grass mixtures, with irrigation immediately after sowing.
