Much like the band's previous releases, this new belter is packed to the rafters with the traits that made them a household name within the Bulgarian hardcore scene. The explosive guitar tone and all-guns-blazing rhythm section combine perfectly well with the propulsive vocals of the singer Georgi, alternating flawlessly between styles. "Heartless, Shallow and Cruel" is a big leap forward for Expectations. It's their most daring album to date, charting a territory between the tropes of early 2000s melodic hardcore, which influenced the band in their early years, and something far more mature and abstract. There's more power and vigor in these ten songs for sure, but the impulsiveness and rush of previous albums are gone for good in favor of a more balanced approach to songwriting and powerful collaborations with various Bulgarian artists."     Expectations is a melodic hardcore band formed in 2009 in Sofia, Bulgaria. They have released 4 studio albums so far with each pushing their own boundaries and sound. The latest album "Heartless, Shallow and Cruel" offers their best attempt at combining the melodic and heavy sides of hardcore with each song adding different flavors and nuances to the mix.

    Through the years Expectations have shared the stage with bands like Parkway Drive, Architects, While She Sleeps, Stick To Your Guns, Comeback Kid, Bane and A Wilhelm Scream. Since its inception, the band has toured extensively around Europe, playing more than 170 shows and always trying to keep the DIY underground punk ethics alive.
