Map of Bulgaria by Pancho Toshkov - territories from 1917 - 1941
- Pancho Toshkov - one of the prominent Bulgarian cartographers from the beginning of the last century. This map you see is from the First World War era. This is the short period around 1917, when Dobruja was added to the territory of the country, and White Sea Thrace and Macedonia were still part of Bulgaria. The subsequent Treaty of Neuilly deprived the country of these territories. In 1940, the Kraiov Agreement distributed the lands in Dobrudja, and the Paris Peace Treaty of 1947 defines the native borders to this day.The map was produced in 1941, but the country territories in this image are from 1917. The map is in poor condition, but has preserved colors and lettering. It has been folded but can be framed so the folds don't show. The paper is thick and rough.
