  • We may all associate May 1 with Labor Day and the truly bright socialism of the Eastern Bloc, but in fact the "holiday" was provoked by American labor unions on May 1, 1886, demanding an official eight-hour workday.

    May Day greeting to the BKP - inspirer and organizer of our people's struggle for socialism and communism!

    In this campaign poster we see how easy it is to turn any ideological thing to your advantage. The poster comes with technical notes noting its dimensions and printing press instructions. It was printed in DP Chrompoligrafia "Balkan" Sofia in a circulation of 200,350 copies. The style of the image is typical of the late 1950s, in this case from 1959.
