L’Europeo No. 100: A Unique Collector’s Edition
On the eve of Christmas, L’Europeo celebrates a double anniversary: the 80th anniversary of the legendary Italian magazine and the publication of the 100th issue of its worthy Bulgarian successor—now the only one of its kind in the world.
Nearly 400 pages recount the fascinating Italian and Bulgarian history of L’Europeo, a history shaped by the dramatic upheavals and transformations of its age.
"Why was L’Europeo born?" asked the magazine’s founder, Arrigo Benedetti, in his inaugural editorial of 1945. The most compelling answer is offered by the countless writers and contributors who have graced its pages over the decades, among them Bertrand Russell, Italo Calvino, Truman Capote, Alberto Moravia, Dino Buzzati, Oriana Fallaci, and Daniele Protti.
The Bulgarian edition of L’Europeo was launched in 2008 and, ever since, has brought together on its pages some of Bulgaria’s most distinguished journalists, writers, scholars, and public intellectuals, alongside major figures from world culture and public life.
This exceptional collector’s edition also opens the doors to the magazine’s inner world, revisiting landmark texts by its authors, historic interviews, and remarkable photography—an enduring and defining element of the magazine’s identity.
