Vintage poster "The Immortal Garrison" 1958

  • "The Immortal Garrison" is a Soviet film from 1956. The director of the production is Zakhar Agranenko, and in the main roles you will see Vasili Makarov, Nikolai Kryuchkov and Lydia Sukhareva. The turned classic socialist film recreates the one-month siege of the Brest Fortress (today's Belarus) in 1941.

    The film was made only a few years after the events, and since the names of the victims were still unclear in 1956, most of the characters' names were invented by screenwriter Konstantin Simonov. The film is as heavy as only a real Soviet production can be, but let's not forget that it was this fortress that received the title of "fortress-hero" in 1965.

    On this movie poster we see the main characters of the movie. The poster has technical notes indicating its dimensions and instructions for printing. It was printed in the State Enterprise (State Printing House) Chromolithography "Balkan" Sofia in a circulation of 4000 copies. The style of the image is typical for the late 50s of the last century, in this case the poster is from 1958.
